The Stromness Community Centre is a welcoming community facility in the heart of Stromness, offering flexible spaces for activities, meetings, events and community gatherings.
From March 2026, the centre is managed by Stromness Community Development Trust, following the transfer of the building from Orkney Islands Council into community management.
The Trust is working with centre users and the wider community to support existing activities while exploring opportunities to develop the building and its services for the future.

The Community Centre provides a range of spaces suitable for community groups, clubs, meetings, training sessions and events.
Facilities include:
- Multi-purpose activity rooms.
- Meeting and training spaces.
- Equipment such as projectors and presentation equipment.
Activities and Community Use
The centre supports a wide range of community activity, including:
- Local clubs and societies.
- Training sessions and workshops.
- Community meetings.
- Youth activities.
- Social events and celebrations.
The aim is to maintain the centre as an active, welcoming space for the community. A Masterplan is in development for the development and enhancement of the centre and the facilities that it offers.
